couple things

   was parking up today and pulled my handbrake up, it seemed to skip a couple notches and then slipped all the way to the top, now it only holds the car slightly right at the top, what could have happened? ive had a couple brake problems before but its been fixed and after a while the handbrake goes or needs tightening. any ideas?

   im really struggling to get it into first and second gear, it feels i have to force it and it makes a kind of slight grinding noise, now and again third aswell, fourth gear is squeaking, fifth is fine, and i struggle with reverse. do i need a new gear box? i think i do not sure tbh though.

   Sounds like you probably need new handbrake cables if it's run out of adjustment. Also, your gear linkage may need looked at. Is the gear lever tight in the middle of the gate or does it flop about a lot?

   yeah, the handbrake at first felt like it slipped, now it feels really loose. and the gearstick flops around a hell of a lot, its a pain in the arse when i cant get it in gear. cheers for reply =]

   You might have snapped a handbrake cable then. I'd say handbrake cables and a gear linkage overhaul. No probs.
