Squeaky gearstick & leaking interior light

    Hi,

just wondering if someone could help me out with sorting out these two little issues, im guessing for the leaking light its the ariel so i was gonna pop the light out, loosen the ariel bolt so i can get some kinda of silicon grease or something round the base of the ariel it then tighten it back on removing any of the grease that gets pushed out ?

If that sounds like a plan could anyone help with the kind of sealer i need or silicon product or whatever?

The second issue is the gearstick squeaking when i put it into gear usually third and fourth but can do it on the others, i tried spraying some kind of lubricant i found around the base of it after taking the gator off however it didn't seem to do much, what is best to do it? some kind of grease or WD-40?

    Cheers

also with the gearstick, it feels really floppy and not tight at all, im not sure if standard they are like this and sometimes i struggle getting it into first gear or reverse, sometimes just needs a bit of a push.

A good silicone sealant i`ve found is 1 from Halfrauds(yes sometimes even they have good stuff lol)its in a white tube the silicone is black cost about £6 I used it as extra sealing around my rocker cover & it works.

my gears are the same and ive been told i need new gear linkages. they arent meant to be floppy i dont think. and i just used a waterproof sealant and filled the underneath of the aerial base with it, it stopped the interior light leaking

iv had same prob with my 106gti and my saxo vts...its the shitty non existant seal on aerial... black silicone will do the trick and be unnoticeable
