fastest saxo

  1. #1
Basically i have come into a large sum of money and I was wondering what the most powerful engine ppl have seen in a saxo I am going to buy a mk 1 1.1 and tune it to the hills i currently have around £30,000 to spend on it and dont tell me to get a better car I have already brought a few.

    Thanks guys and girls
  2. #2
ur mad m8 just buy a nice car
  3. #3
Get some ultra bright bulbs for your foglights, paint your wheels orange and get some Viper stripes.

That should have you see off any other saxo on the planet

Im been serious have just brought a focus rs an a 911 an im happy just want a fun car nw
  6. #6
God, i envy you. i would get a rwd conversion and (i haven't seen it in a saxo) a toyota celica 1.8. These can be tuned to high heaven. turbo'd your looking at about 400-500hp being sensible. that would make an awesome saxo. especially if you kept it looking like a standard 1.1
  7. #7
That was the plan steelies the lot lol rwd how much u looking really ovs a huge job?
  8. #8
two 1.6 16v engines, two superchargers
should blow your money nicely and will be rapid in a straight line.
  9. #9
don't know. i only know one person who has done it, he had a honda engine in the back, really unbalanced car. can't remember the name. big job tho. any willing engineering firm would probably undertake it
  10. #10
Daft question, you will get almost any engine in with enough money. Also why at 1.1 as a starting point?

Ps I will be suprised if this is real.
  11. #11
Ye okay ill ring around lol I just want a car that will blitz all the diks in scobbys an most other things on the road. Wat bout like a v8 or sum fin wud that b possible
  12. #12
    deposit for a house!!!

    simples!
if not get a v6 or v8 engine thrown in.
or vts with the best turbo possible!!

may i ask how you got this money?
  13. #13
would be, but it would be too heavy for the chassis, would be horrific. u need a lightweight engine with lots of power. e.g. turbo's. jap engine are your best bet. sr20det is the engine i would suggest actually. there is a clio rallycross car with one mounted in the back, putting out 700hp! 4wd
  14. #14
I raced with a guy at the weekend who has a v8 bentley twin turbo engine. Want it?
  15. #15
    Someone dreaming ?

If you made 'the fastest saxo' It would be pointless unless you just plan to drag race it ?
Silly amounts off power in fwd car which weighs as much as a can of coke (About as safe as one aswell) Is ridiculous.

Even if you did spend alot on suspension etc, The power to weight ratio would be stupid and wouldn't exactly help being fwd.
You'd end up spinning on the spot so much you'd be wearing through your wheels where your tyres would go so quick
  16. #16
i gonna want to see this car when it's finished lol
  17. #17
wow i would look down the 4wd engine route. don't know if it's been done, don't know if it can be done?
  18. #18
I dont think it will ever get started never mind finished
  19. #19
I'm sure if a 4wd fiesta can be made, a saxo isn't off the table
  20. #20
supercharge or turbo it to around 300bhp atw and then I decide if you think it needs to be faster.
  21. #21
we should be able to build something quite lively for around 25-30k

    possibilities are endless.

    call for enquiries.
  22. #22
same as above .talk to people who have done major conversions ,but make sure you tell them what it is to be used for ,so you end up with a car you can live with,
    just finishing a 106 with s/c today --278@wheels 303@fly@ 6347rpm @1.2bar of boost
,stopped cos we run out of injectors ,awaitng the customer to see where he wants to go now --not sure how much more power a normal mortal could use in anything but a straight line in 2 wd drive.

the rwd has been done in a saxo from them two guys who built up a mk1 an wacked a type-r engine in the boot check fast car website and mag its in there
  24. #24
Type in "zcars saxo" into google and you'll get on theere site. They offer a honda civic type R engine conversion or a 2.3 ford engine. Both can be turbo'd at extra cost. Conversion costs from 5 grand but obviously the more you spend the more you get.
If you're genuine about this then that's your best option.
  25. #25
i can smell a big lie
    spending 30,000 on a saxo?
  26. #26
    Smells like BS indeed..

The road, if for road users. Not boyracers. V8 ? get an M3. You will probably die before you blitz some of them Evos, mind. I find it extremely stupid to spend 30 grand on a saxo just to "blitz" scoobies.

Also, if you spend all that, you won't have much to pay for the insurance, which will be bound to be stupidly high, along with the tax disc. I hope you planned on declaring it... How old are you, how many years NCD etc ?

    you BOUGHT a few
  30. #30
Ok ive got an idea. Take a subaru Impreza running gear - 4WD, then mount it with a heavily modified RB26DETT Engine (Skyline R34) and completly reinforce the car to take the strain. Then voila one hell of a monster.

    4WD 800BHP Saxo!

but why buy a type r engine at silly money you can get near as much bhp form a boosted saxo vts ,seemy s/c posts on our affliate site.
    and at less monay .
as fro making rwd --wouldnt, consider it ,will cost al ot more and you end up with a 2 seater --
it will never handle well ,only advantage wold be for dragracing --
you might as well buy a kit car +stick something in it
  34. #34
    I have one word "ANDROS"
  35. #35
    If i had £30,000

    Attempt 4wd and hopefully succeed.
Supercharged VTS engine with all the other goodies. (350bhp is a good figure and would be fairly usable)
Brembo 6 pots or some other mental brakes.
Gaz coilovers and all the usual stuff.

Then that is it really, stripped to hell with a amazing cage and buckets in. Probably wouldn't come to £30,000, so i would keep the change to spend when things go wrong and maintaining the car.

    EDIT!

Scrap all that and just buy a S1600 rally car!
  36. #36
why not spend that money on the rs or 911 and make them faster?
  37. #37
    because he is dreaming

They had a bit of perspex going across behind the seats to lower the noise and keep emisions away from the front

  41. #41
Why the hell would you want to blow most of 30k on a saxo... are you mad! Id throw atleast 20k on a house/flat and buy a nice 8k motor and pay off insurance tax for the year... Money well spent if you asked me.

Or set up a business... even better.

Money like that mate doesnt come round often, spend it wisely.
  42. #42
this is a wind up im sure anyone would rather buy a scooby or evo for a few g and spend the rest on that engine 2 get it mad not a 1.1 saxo
  43. #43
put a scooby engine in the saxo

i had 1 and miss the burble

  45. #45
    http://www.106owners.co.uk/forums/sh...ght=106+cossie

as above check this shit. its a brief. and if you have all this cash why buy the focus rs its ruined with duratec on the top of the engine. i would hav bought a mk2 escort and cossied it then it would be a real ford instead of a volvo. also why the hell did you buy a 911. did you put names of cars in a hat and you just happened to pick out all the shitters

    Good investigation mate.
  48. #48
I was bidding on a gasturbine on ebay not that long ago that I had intention on fitting in a AX. If you keep your eyes open you can pick them with no logbook and no certificate at a sensible price as they are no longer legal to use in aircraft. Being shaft drive they are like any other engine conversion to fit though have massive torque so require heavy drive train normally off a small truck / van. You could also go for a turbojet but it tends to limit what you can do with the thing after. There was a fully working one on ebay the other month with control box for under £2000 though. All great fun
  49. #49
this is such a load of barrow fodder, any simple investigation will find that ten grand wud see u nicely around 3/400 horse power with a 1,8 stroker kit low comp pistons methanol injection, nitrous injection garrett gt 3071r turbo ,charge cooler, intercooler oil cooler throttle bodies, anti lag a pair of wellers some drag slicks custom shafts, dog box, performance exhaust and an aem ecu, o and some hid's if u want 1000hp
  50. #50
This dude is living on cloud 69! 1.1 or 1.4 converted to a 1.6 yeh but anything else is dangerous and probs would struggle to get an mot.....................
  51. #51
    Lies....
  52. #52
get a vaux and let it
  53. #53
Why dream of spending £30,000 on a Saxo.
    Dream of something good.
Like Gabriella Cilmi in your bed.
    iDiots.
  54. #54
The idea of this thread and having 30k to spend is not very believable, but here goes...
custom straight through exhaust, enclosed induction kit, get a 1800cc stroker kit, throttle boddies, and tripple-charge Twin-Turbo+Supercharger, NOS kit, completely custom drivetrain (would be needed for the ridiculous torque), standalone ECU, remapping costs, all relevant intercoolers etc.

30k well spent, and it should still leave you with enough money for your funeral when you drive it.
  55. #55
Dont forget your electric supercharger and 99p ebay chip though they're the dogs dangelies
  56. #56
like said get 2 white striped from front to back of the car, with your common argos open air filter and universal backbox that will increase the cars perfomance 10x more than what it is. job done fastest saxo going! GOON.

TBH if i had a spare 30k i wouldn't be spending it on a saxo thats for sure
  59. #59
Ha, ha i have just bought a focus rs and a 911 but i want a 30k SAXO 1.1!!!!!! WTF. Either a piss take or a idiot!!!
  60. #60
get a twin hybusas motor bike engine on rwd seamweld whole car proper drifter spen the last 20 grand on tyres lol
  61. #61
take the engine out of the 911 put it in the spaxo lol pms asif any 1 would wanna waste 30k ona spaxo wat a joke buy mine for 20 k if you want haha
  62. #62
I would buy a bent Audi s3, take the engine and 4wd system from it, forged the block, some livley cams, big fat owens turbo and cram it all into a saxo. A solid 500bhp with 4wd would be quite nice
  63. #63
Why is it only me that seems to think this guy is chatting utter pish !

He thinks he just bought a 911 and a focus rs and now he wants to spend the money on a saxo, now wtf come on guys.
  64. #64
    Its nice to dream...
  65. #65
To be fair if i had that sort of money laying spare i probably would spend it on the saxo.
Imagine the face of a Porsche/Ferrari/Skyline/Subaru owner when you fly past them in a Saxo LOL £30000? The look on their faces? Priceless!
  66. #66
Hehehe what about 4WD?? i love to see that with a 300hp turbo/supercharged saxo.
  67. #67
    what a load of shit
  68. #68
4WD, widen the track, bigger wider wheels, and a stupid fast turbo engine. Get the engineers on the case now!

Or Citroen could get off their ass and make a new decent hot hatch
  69. #69
actually invest in a tow rope and tie it to a veyron
  70. #70
lol thats one way. Saying that the Veyron weighs enough as it is not sure it could handle anymore lol
