Is a heat gun the best way to remove the sound deadening found in the footwells and on the rear arches or are there easier ways?

I`d use a hairdryer i`m thinking heat gun near fuel lines/tank=Nooooooooo way.

Chisel and white spirit is the easiest way mate.

cheers all, didn't think about using white spirit. does that just harden it so it's brittle i guess
