    sorry for the LONG post...

okay firstly my electrics are fukcked! the proevious owner chopped the cables over n over which is the cause of every thing gone wrong on my car so far!!!

on the way to work this morning my power steering kept cuttin off and comin bk on.. until eventually it just stayed off.. when i got to work i had a look at the connections and they were crimped poorly! so i re crimped it and it worked fine.. 6 or so hours later i drove home and my battery light came on... after 15mins or so the airbag light came on and off and on .....

carrying on driving.. my clocks and dash lights die but engine n head lights still working..

got on my drive battery died..car died...
after turnin it over for a while it just seemed as tho the battery was gutted..

after an hour i went out to have a look at it.. tried starting it.. it started first time... and everythink was workin.. after it had been running for a while everythink began to fuck up again!

now i try to turn it over and its as tho the battery is completly dead.. altough my lights and radio etc is workin fine...

    any ideas?

i brought this car about a month ago.. im on the edge of scrappin da damn thing!

sounds like you should get a decent loom and rebuild the car

how much did a new one set ya back?

theres something not right with me if it is the alternator.. 2 cars and 2 new alternators in the past ..this would be the third!!!!

cant see how a faulty alternator would be the cause of this because it wouldnt have started again if the battery was so flat the dash lights and clock die aswell as power steering. i would say you most likely have some poor earth connections somewere, or the loom like you say has been altered poorly, so might be worth while putting a new loom in mate, not hard if you label everything up when you remove the old one

if you really want to keep the car and you can do this work yourself

surely youve got to get another loom

its gotta hit the nail on the head with the electrical problems

spesh if youve had a typical backgarden badboy saxo owner and CHOMPED the loom around

okay so im pretty much gonna have to have a look at a new loom then.. im an electrician so im used to labeling cables n tht.. but how big of a job am i lookin at with this? guessin the dash as to come off? a long days work? or the odd few hours?

Start car, unplug battery - if car carries on running then the alternators fine.
