Engine rebuild vs replacement

   Ive got a mk2 vtr that eats more oil than petrol. Which do you reckon is the best and the cheapest from the above.

   replacement!.. unless you want to modify the hell out of your original engine, but that will leave your car off the road for a while!.

   could be valve stem oil seals which cost £1 each, so £8 for hte parts, £20 for HG, £10 for head bolts then labour on top, so £38 or buy a new engine? hmmm
   
   if you know the history of the engine id sort the problem, but if its gonna cost £250 or more (maybe even £300 if your not gonna do the work yourself) id get a replacement.
