gearbox went about a week ago, bought a new one from scappies. he said its the same but it has different numbers on them.

the original (fu*ked one) says:2e53 theres no numbers on the metal plate of the old box.

new one says:8es2 and then on a flat metal plate, 20cc250348477 .

    are they the same?

    thanks

    106/saxo/ax 1.0 5 speed

    CA09
    CA44
    CA99
    CB28
    CB56
    CB81

Sounds like it's not quite the right box for a furio tbh. It'll fit but has quite 'short ratios' in comparison (not stupidly short - would probably be fine tbh fitting it) - check this thread out: http://www.106owners.co.uk/forums/sh...d.php?p=388974

Sounds like the old box had the number ground off ? God knows why !?

Look at the thread I posted up, give you max sped in each gear for the 1.0 box

Look at it with a 6250 limit and 185/55/14 tyres. Compare the figures against the furio box

its completly smooth, like it was never put on. will it get to the top speed of each gear quicker?

    Seems strange !

It's hard to say as say you wanted to hit 58mph (opens can of worms) you'll need to change gear with the new box, whereas you might have been able to hit that in 2nd on your old box ?

It'll be a fine box, and you'll barely notice it on the road tbh - if anything it'll be a bit more 'fun' to drive as it'll build the revs quicker

    Awesome!!

Let is know how it feels on the road!

just a thought... wouldn't it run out of gear before it reaches the rev limit?!

    eh ?!

    in 5th ?

no, in all the other gears. if my old box got to 80some in 3rd and this 1.0 box only gets to 70some in 3rd surely it will only rev to about 5500 when it runs out of gear. im probably miles of

I dont understand tbh, at 70mph you change to 4th and hit 80 in forth instead of 3rd.

Your rev limit doesn't change, the speed your doing at each rev limit in each gear changes though
