New rear beam time?

   On the way home earlier, could hear a horrible noise coming from the N/S rear, got underneath and had a little poke around to see if anything had come loose and noticed a nice big hole
   
   
   
   Now i'm no pro, but i'm sure that's not right, would it explain my banging noise? I'm assuming it's going to be a bit annoying to sort out

   yes that hole, it's crumbling all around the inside of the hole and there's no hole on the other side lol

   you sure? If i run my finger around the edge of the hole it makes it wider as all the rust crumbles away
   I've sent jason off to investigate his rear beam to see if his looks the same lol

   haha to be fair you've been on fire lately with the question answering!
   I'm just trying to work out what the noise is, def not brakes, don't really know enough about the suspension to know what i'm looking for
   Only other thing it could be is the rear plastic arch on the quarter panel which is a bit loose, but it was a horrible noise, even when going along at 10mph on a smooth-ish road

   i had my rear beam off the other week, ment to be there mate lol, just proberly loads of dirt and grit thats fallen off when you touch it, am sure its ment to be there though

   What sort of noise is it? Like metal hitting metal?
   
   Knocking? Does it sound metallic?
   
   Id doubt if it was the arch? Way to test it is to remove it and see if the noise is still there

    hmm well its not a noise i've heard before, and to be honest it does sound like plastic banging around, definately not metallic, i did notice just now that the arch is loose at the bottom, and i did have a squeak coming from the car the last couple of days. I think i'll whack the arch off and take it for a drive tbh.. cheers for advice
