I get a loss of torque maybe even gain with NGK, also the eyquems have the best idle!

Plugs are specified to the engine requirement. So on a standard engine any quality branded standard spec plug will be optimal. I like the stock NGK ones

Why spend £8 per plug for iridium when the only gain in bhp will be what you have lost due to worn plugs.
Unless the engine is very highly tuned you will see no gain at all over stock.

Many years ago when splitfire plugs 1st came out i fittf a set to my a series mg metro engine which had all sorts done.
Big valve head, roller rockers, yellow carb spring, modified needle, over bore, pistons, cams etc
took it to a respected rolling road for a tune.
Was makeing rubbish power and running bad.no amount of altering the fueling or dizzy dwell would make it any better.
When i told him what plugs i had in he said to swap them for ngk r plugs.
The engine imediatly ran better, power was up and he could adjust it how it needed to be.

Since that day ive not run fancy plug, just standerd good quality oner

NGK Rs here, spot on. The Eyquems are fine too, but I needed a set of plugs desperately and didn't fancy hunting for a set so just went to halfords.

Bump of an old thread! Servicing the sax at the moment and looking around for some decent spark plugs, its a 1.4 furio with nothing special done to it, so I obv don't need anything special!

Are these a good choice? Seem cheap so I thought I'd ask before wasting my money on shite!
