Aerial mount

  1. #1
    Alright people,

I'm going to be doing some work on my car this weekend and one of the things I want to sort is the aerial on the car. The knacker that owned the car before me though it would be a good idea to pull the full thing off so I cant get any reception at all.

He was kind enough to leave the remnants of his good work in the boot of the car (the aerial itself & the mount), but the mount is missing a vital piece (according to a mechanic I asked to fit it back on for me), the long pin which actually connects the aerial to the wire which I assume goes into the back of my stereo in my car.

I've been down to my local breaker yard and saw a couple of Saxo with the aerial and mount still attached. Now before I start hacking away at it with some tools, can some advise me:

    - How I remove it without damaging it.
    - what it is I should be looking to remove and take with me as I haven't got a clue.

if someone can provide me with a picture of the mount with the ' long pin' just so I know what i'm looking for, it would be much appreciated.

    Cheers peeps!

I've had to silicone it as a temp measure as when it starting raining, water was getting in the light.

if you look where your interior light is you have to remove the plastic surround and you will see a small nut undo that and the base should come away from the body
