#6You can fit a prehemoglobin valve to the fuel line which up the fuel pressure giving you an extra 5-8bhp

#10Infact, if you have a VTR engine then just drop a VTS engine in. Instant 18 or 30bhp and could be done for the price of a 4-2-1 manifold if you are lucky.

As mentioned please try to use the search button to answer generic questions. If there is something you are still unsure of please feel free to ask.
Don't be put of by knobs that know more than you do. They tend to get banned from the site

#42Okay, generally the question was how to make my VTR faster.. simple answer is to swap engines to the VTS. You can pick them up on ebay for around £375 mate. And i agree with what you say 'littleracer' by stripping down your car reduces the weight. The weight really only has an effect from 0-60, anything after that is down to mostly wind resistance and aerodynamics.Quote:Actually stripping makes more of a difference then just more power
sweet for banning him he was beginning to piss me off. We don't care how you went to your little college and learnt to be a mechanic. your amazing. ;/ not -
#431. That post was from 2004 mate. Wouldn't think the engine is still up for sale mate. Sorry.Quote:do you thing this engine is any good i think ill be ok with insurance money

2. You will need the wiring loom, ecu etc.. try and get all of this together which will make the conversion alot easier.
Yea looks like the post is dated ages agoQuote:Looks like a bargain if you can get proof of milage and see it running or turning over

#46with the standard VTR engine ? budget? - How much money have you got to spend
-
#47of course weight doesnt only effect accelertaion, it also effects braking cornering turn in etc.Quote:Okay, generally the question was how to make my VTR faster.. simple answer is to swap engines to the VTS. Just make sure you check the mileage on the engines. -
#52if i know nothing how did i do a complete strip down and rebuild of my engine front suspension also ported and polished my own cylinder head have lots of photos of me doing this plus loads of other jobs on my car as well also if i knew nothing then my car would not have gone though the mot and passed

#55if you mean cylinder head strip of ancillary components when all that is taken off then undo cylinder head bolts with torque ratchet then remove cylinder head then strip down cylinder head it self to components parts then port it then flat and polish combustion cambers/exhaust ports then remove pistons and flat and polish piston crowns
-
#58So after you finish porting the head, do you put it on a flowbench to see if you have made any improvement? Or are you just taking a wild stab in the darkQuote:if you mean cylinder head strip of ancillary components when all that is taken off then undo cylinder head bolts with torque ratchet then remove cylinder head then strip down cylinder head it self to components parts then port it then flat and polish combustion cambers/exhaust ports then remove pistons and flat and polish piston crowns

#59no wild stab in the dark, drove the car loads before porting and the same afterQuote:So after you finish porting the head, do you put it on a flowbench to see if you have made any improvement? Or are you just taking a wild stab in the dark

and after porting goes really well just like it is a completely different engine
to easy to cruise at 4,000 rpm /4,500 rpm in 5th -
#60cool cool
