locking hole on flywhel

    im trying to find the hole to lock the flywheel on my gti but i cannot find no hole there ive felt all around where its supposed to be and can not find any hole at all apart from the big one which is ment to be just down beside the small locking

    its a small hole !! It might just have some debris around it.

    It'll be there !!

    It's near the bottom of the oil dipstick stalk. Theres two that are around 4mm, it's the on closest to the pistons

    Changed my cam belt today.. on a vtr.. we turned engine over to a point where it was happy to stay put, and then marked the top and bottom pullys with tipex. Matching marks on head and block. Job done.

    Once new belts on just turn it over by hand 2 full turns and check the marks still all line up.
