MOT Fail guidance required

    Ok so here we go guys, how much am i looking at roughly when i ring them back in the morning

    1. Power steering inoperative
    2. Horn does not function
    3. Nearside front windscreen washer provides insufficient washer liquid
    4. Ofside front windscreen washer provides insufficient washer liquid
    5. Nearside front tyre tread depth below requirements of 1.6mm
    6. Offside rear tyre tread depth below requirements of 1.6mm
    7. Nearside rear trailing arm has excessive play in a pin/bearing
    8. Offside rear trailing arm has excessive play in a pin/bearing
    9. Service brake efficiency below requirements

    Also handwritten Offside rear inner wheelarch is corroded and holed.

    Ok so the power steering has been playing up, guess it was having a bad day, reconditioned pump needed.

    I already knew the horn wasn't working

    Just put some water in the washer bottle and it seeped straight out the bottom so hole in the bottle or the pipe im thinking

    Knew i needed at least 2 new tyres

    And i knew the handbrake was loose so is the cable just needs tightening or more serious??

    Not sure what i need to do about the rear pins/bearings

    new rear beam time by the sounds of it, new power steering pump, maybe washer bottle,2 tyres and welding, not a good day then

    new car may be better value.

    Haha. You reckon, that will be me done with saxo's then, i will get a quote of them in the morning then decide.

    just going by prices for parts when we sell them,
    power steering pump £65
    rear VTR axle £125
    washer bottle £5
    185/55x14 tyres with legal tread £15 each
    that leaves you the horn,welding and service brake left to sort out, plus whatever labour you're going to be paying....you'll get parts cheaper if you have mates help you out or shop around and can be bothered to wait long enough
