2 questions regarding spraying wheels

  1. #1
    1. How long after i have sprayed them can i use some poorboys wheel sealent/polish on them?

    2. I have some rim tape to put on, would it be an idea to stick the rim tape on before i laquer the wheels?

    Thanks in advance

    1. I waited 48 hours after the final coat of laquer
    2. If in time you go off the look of the rim tape you're stuck with it unless you want to sand them off.

i'd wait up to four days for lacquar to dry proper, as i left mine to dry in conservatory then put rim tape on and when i tried to move the tape it peeled the lacquar off

So basically, even if i wanted to get the tape off, it would peel the laquer off anyway.

If the laquer has hardened suffieciently before you put the rim tape on, you should be able to take it off with little trouble. If you laquer over the rim tape, its on for good.

id say leave the lacquer to dry for a few days maybe 3 or 4 before even touching them, then rim tape on top, then maybe polish, but before i polished mine, i had them on the car a week, to make sure the lacquer didnt get damaged, and had hardened properly =]

i u read thro all the threads about the finishing of wheels i think pred recommends leaving them to harden for a week or so. i did this the second time round as the rim tape took the lacquar off.
and yea if u lacquar over rim tape it ain;t coming off so be sure u want it on there
