Oil Filter removal help?

   I'm in the middle of servicing my mk2 2001 vtr and I can't get the oil filter off? It's the one where you just replace the middle, not the whole filter.
   The only advice I can find on removing them is for the metal filters that you throw away after use and not the ones with the plastic cap.
   Has anyone got any experience with removing these? And what did you use to do it?

   use a socket. on the top of the filter housing is a moulded nut. You could also try a filter strap/band with care.

   screw driver. stab it through the filter then bobs your uncle
