cv joints and driveshafts

   hi,
   
   i got a phone call off the mechanic today saying my cv joint had gone on the saxo. but i had to buy the whole driveshaft... can anyone explain why?
   
   is this because you can't buy them seperatly for saxos?

   CV joint is part of the driveshaft, and you can't really take apart a driveshaft to replace one bit of it
