low pitch vibration

    hi ppl

i was on the motorway on saturday and 40 miles into my journey a low pitch vibration began. was only doin 50 as there were road works. got a toe back home and used the car this week for work and no sign of it at all. took it for a spin at 80mph no sign of the noise. i've been reading other threads, possibilities are driveshaft, wheel bearing, engine mount or thrust bearing. surely if it were the bearing in the clutch it would be happening all the time right?

any advice would be much appreciated

    thanks in advance

I get a whirring noise at 60, thought was wheel bearing to be honest but it turns out the wind is making a noise as it goes over the wing mirror. If I wind window down and tuck it in the noise stops. Whats weird is it has just started doing it, it's not logical at all!

Anyway, went a bit off track there, likely bet is wheel bearing, try steering ledt and right to load up each side of the car, if noise gets louder one way surely it is wheel bearing.

Driveshafts usually click on full lock at low speed and thud thud thud on hard acceleration.

    Hope you get sorted mate

    Hi

When steering to the right very quickly to put load on the right bearing the noise does get loud, but I jacked the car tried to shake the wheel but no movement or play.
How do I check to see if it could be the ball joint on the wishbone.
Also when moving off I can hear a squeak and have been told that the bottom engine mount needs replacing, what would I need to replace the whole mount or the rubber thing inside.

    Thanks

Ok guys I have just replaced the driveshaft, wheel bearing, drop link and wish bone, now when moving off you get a click noise coming from the drivers side wheel. When you reverse a little it clicks and then when you move off it clicks. Need some advice please its doin my head in, I’ve just spent money to sort the other shi* and now this.
