just brought a de cat saxsport system, what do i do about the lambda sensor?

    just ordered my system (saxsport backbox and de cat pipe) for my vts 2001. I think from what other people are saying on here, that there is two lambda sensors on my car? is this right? does that mean i need to buy two lambda sleeves? v.confused?

    i still have the after cat. lamda in my straight through and the post cat(near mani) is cable tyed out of the bloody way

    sorry didnt quite get that, so both the sensors are cable tyed out the way? is your engine light on, on the dash?

    my after cat(which is the sensor after the cat converter) is still in the straight though decat pipe. and the post cat(befoe the cat near the manifold) is cable tyed up out the way.

    and no my e/m light is not on

    You really need to change that so that the lambda before the cat is active. The engine need to know i it is running rich before the cat, if any fuel reaches the cat it will kill it in seconds

    so does everyone agree that i sleeve the sensor at the mani (take it out) and also the one near the cat itself???
    I dont know alot about this (thats why i'm asking) but i would have thought that you would just sleeve the one near the cat and leave the one near the manifold alone?

    Lambda with the green connector needs to be in before the cat/decat pipe! Blue connecter lambda can be sleeved

    bascially if you have two holes in the new manifold your ok
    but if you have 1 then you need to put the first sensor which is normally on the top into the manifold (this monitors the amount of fuel)

    Your second lambda sleeve needs to be sleeved (as the second one monitors wheather the Cat is fine) you can get a new lamda sleeve from GMC website mate or try ebay
