Water Leak

  1. #1
    Hi All,

I've sprung a leak! Its really hard to see, but it seems to be coming from the back of the engine (left side as you look at the car) below the inlet manifold. If you can imagine where the water pump goes into the side of the block, go round the corner to the back and its just there. I pretty sure its a metal pipe with a flange that bolts onto the engine. Has anyone had this? and does anyone know what the hell I am talking about and whats its called?

P.S. Haynes manaul deosn't mention it

    Cheers

I have recently replaced this pipe on my vts. (if ist the same one you are talking about.) It wasn't metal though. Black thick rubber.

As you look into the engine bay, it comes from the lower rear left of the block, runs round the left (ecu side) of the block and into the bottom of the radiator.

It's pretty easy to change. But you will need a ramp or jack and axel stands. About 30 quid from Citroen for the pipe.

    Hope this helps.

No probs. If you do it yourself, it's a jubilee clip on each end and a couple of clips along the way. Make sure your not under it when you pop the pipe off cos you'll get covered in rusty coolant. Pull it off the rad end first to let the coolant/water drain out.
Obviously make sure you have new coolant to fill it up afterwards.

Also be caredul to not snap the plastic bit it attaches to, they are quite brittle.
