How to change alternator pulleys and belt

  1. #1
Had a quick look through the how to guides, and the sticky thread in this section and could not find anything...

Got a crank pulley kit form Kam, and want to fit it, do i need any special tools for the job?

    Thanks

Ah sorry, you will need someway of getting the alternator pulley off - I'd use an air gun if you can?

It needs to be counterheld and then a swan-neck to undo it - or a socket in an air gun!

The crankshaft side of things is easy !

Haha, yeah i just noticed when i went outside to tackle the issue, none of my sockets can get to the alternator pulley!! Might just has to take it down to a garage to be done! The crank pulley looks like a few bolts and its off!!

never mind! Car will remain off the road!!

crank pulley is just 3x 13mm bolts.

it's just the alternator pulley, and then tensioning the belt up i think

Yeah, it does not look that hard to be honest, just dont have an air gun.... Belt on it at the moment is split on one side, dont want to risk driving it and then wiping the cam belt out... I have seen it happen on here quite a few times!!
