headlights

Im just wondering whats the little metal cup thing that covers the front of the bulb in the headlight itsself because ive messed with mine and now my headlights are poo. What would happen if i was to remove it?

Then you wouldn't be able to adjust your headlights beam and would fail your MOT.

Edit: How exactly have you messed with yours? Have you bent them down and now the headlights dont shine as far? If so just take the H4 bulb out and GENTLY bend them up a bit

Thats exactly what ive done and there bent in quite alot like closed up.
my right beam is perfect and you can see if you face my car to a wall theres a strong beam from the right side but the left beam doesnt seem to be concentrated if you know what i mean. i may not be being very understandable and i apologise.

Right from what i can make of this, on your left headlight take the main bulb out and with your finger gently try and bend the "metal cup" up a bit. Before doing this make sure you set the headlights adjuster as high as they can go (using the adjuster to the right out the steering wheel). Then its a case of turning your light on tonight and seeing if they are level
