MOT suspension failure!

   basically i bought my saxo a year ago sice then i have spent 2 grand repairing it, went for the MOT today and noticed the camber on the rear right wheel, they said some bearings had gone somewhere (not the wheel ones) they have quaoted me £600-£800 to fix this is it possible to just get a new rear axle (end) for my car ? if so can i fit a Vts or Vtr one to my car???

   Refurbished axle is like £300 roughly and fitting it would cost like £100 if that.

   common fault its the rear beam bearings
   can pick up beams but getting a refurbed one is the best idea tbh
   you can upgrade to the vtr/s disc beam
   
   cost of doing it with a second hand beam is cheaper though

   yeh im a bit pissed off tbh its cause me a arm and a leg so far.... and then getting this today was a big blow! but it has to be fixed so would getting a refurbed rear axle just be the best bet then?

   s/h beam of a salvage/saxo thats being broken for parts will be cheapest, But is always a gamble with s/h parts, make sure its all good before being removed from the car if possible=£100-150 For vtr/s beam youll need brakes discs and pads too. Good idea to make sure the bleednipples are free before buying, And the brake lines arent too corroded together...
   
   Rebuilt beams are the best idea, But again some re-builds are better than others Will also be more expensive. and brakes for vtr/s beam will have to be sourced seperately along with pipes. Unless you buy one and send it to be re-furbed.
   £300 ish.

   thanks mate any ideas on the cost of a new axle? as i really dont want to take the risk on it breaking, or being mucked up again?
   
   i think im defanantly going for a vtr/s axle now though

   mate do it rear disc will make it so much better! ) il help u fit it, if ur fitting it urself, dont bother about the 600quid! RIPOFFF

   Best bet if you can afford it refurd rear beam or the cheaper option a 2nd hand beam that you can check out before you buy

    there's a brand new one on ebay iirc for £400. referb should last well enough and should be closer to the £200 mark.
