Rocker cover leak

   There appears to me a leak around my rocket cover. Im not particuarly technical person so not too sure what is leaking out. The rocker cover seal was replaced and engine was was cleaned 6 months ago. But i can tell its been leaking again.
   Any ideas on whats causing this?
   Dont think its anything to serious as i checked oil and coolent levels and there both fine.
   Any help would be much appreciated.

   Rocker cover gasket? Its only a couple of quid from a motor factor and simple to replace!

   done mine yesturday tbh just replace it again and see what happens is easy job to do

   If your on about replacing the rocker cover gasket six months ago then it shouldnt have cracked or split from general wear already. When you did this did you make sure you didnt over tighten it? Also you need to make sure that the surfaces are wiped and clean of any grit/dirt to ensure an oil tight fitment.

   I just replaced the rubber seal as i could see it was worn away. Is the rocker cover gasket a different thing?

   Are you on about the rubber/plastic seal that sits under the rocker cover? If so then this is th rocker cover gasket.

   Oh then surely its meant to last longer than 6 months. ill replace it again and see.

   Yes it should last a lot longer than that. When replacing the gasket make sure all surfaces are clean from dirt. Also, tighten the 2 bolts that hold the rocker cover in place to 5N torque. Over tightening will cause the seal to crack resulting in it leaking AGAIN
