Time to change driveshaft seals

  1. #1
    Hey guys.

I took my car to the garage to sort out a drive shaft leak on my VTS.

They quoted me 3 hours of labor to change both. Is that reasonable?

Doesn't sound right to me, thanks.

What they charging an hour mate? TBH it took me 2 hours to do both and I hadn't done them before. I ain't a vehicle mechanic but I am an ex time served fitter.

    £50p/h + VAT

I have no trust in mechanics. I'd do it myself If I had the space to work on it

So its working out the best part of £200?

Id buy 2 new driveshafts and fit them, cheaper and piss easy.

I could fit both in under an hour. It is a very easy simple job. Doesnt require much effort
