What have other people bought/how do you rate them?

Is the difference in price between itg and pipercross ones justifiable? Am looking at a 600 series pipercross one, 120mm high. Hoping its going to fit
Will be going over KMS bodies, with 60mm trumpets With the scuttle cut right down to the Bottom. Bodies angle up past this, And if extended straight would be level with the scuttle at 100mm. So im thinking a 120 Moulded should fit? And will give 30mm clearance over the trumpets inside.

Are the box type much bigger than the moulded? Are there any advantage to be had?

    Thankyooz.

I'm running The Jenvey stepped backplate (50mm deep) and the Jenvey ABF2/65 filter (I gather it's 60-65mm high on the inside).

Mine has been squashed a little by the wiper mechanism.

I'm using 60mm trumpets but I'm pretty sure 90mm trumpets would fit fine with no real worries (even though it is a little bit squashed to fit it in) - the filter has a thick mesh on the inside and I was given the advice that you can run the trumpets fairly close to the filter as the mesh stops it being sucked in - I'd guess I've got around 50mm room inside.

Been spot on so far, used it for 1 year - cleaned and re-oiled it twice.

I've never run it without the filter so can't say how performance differes between filtered and unfiltered

I think with the Trumpet ends being just past the scuttle it'll be very tight to get a filter in there - I'd go for a moulded one only really as they look a bit better IMO.

Cool! Sorry i was a bit unclear there With 100mm trumpets it would be level with the scuttle top, So with the trumpets im getting (60mm) it will sit back. Just think i will need a moulded one, as the 120mm long filter would probably hit the scuttle (square filter)

Sounds pretty low maintenance atleast And being able to squash the mesh a little is a bonus! +1 on moulded looking better

Definately avoiding filter socks, But have toyed with the idea of fully open trumpets, But hoping the filter will dub the noise a little...

Sorry mate, I've got to learn to actually read the opening post to a thread

Sounds like your's will sit pretty much in the same position as mine !!

Hopefully some of these pics might help?

Yeah looks to be nearly identical angle and distance from scuttle Sweet.

Cheers for them, will order it up when i get paid!

Did you cut the holes yourself in the baseplate? or was it pre-cut? How closely cut were the holes? ie did they sit perfectly flush with the bore of the jenveys, or a little bigger creating a step between trumpets and jenveys?

    Yeh I cut them myself.

I cut them as close as I could (if in doubt a tad smaller) and just smoothed them out with a dremel - didn't take too long.

I lay the baseplate upside-down on a bench, then assembled the bottom half of the bodies (TB's and Inlet) and then lay them on the bottom of the baseplate - marked up around the edges, then lay a trumpet over each outline and marked the two bolt holes and the main central hole. I used a holesaw for the main holes and normal drill for the two bolt holes.

Just shows how close the trumpet ends sit together, and the room to get an allen key in to tighten the trumpets down !!

The reason I favour the ITG, is because the "hinge" side doesn't have the huge tags of the Pipercross, making it easier to fit in tight spaces (like 106s/Saxos!)

DCOE pattern inlets will usually need the bigger sized P-X 600 or ITG JC50 types, but bike bodies and bore spaced TBs like Jenvey SF/ST and DTH types, will be able to use the more compact P-X 500 and ITG JC40 types.

Thanks for that sandy! Have you seen/noticed much difference between the Smaller and bigger seires filters with 'restriction' As there isnt as much foam filter area/ Space inside the filter?

With the 40mm or deeper small filters they only show 2-3bhp loss on/off, but the 25/30mm ones can have quite an impact on power. Clearance over the trumpet mouths is so important.
