identifying cams

   just after a bit of advice. i hav just bought a set used newman ph4 cams for my vts. is there eny markings i should be looking for that will tell me that these are newman cams? i paid £270 for these as the seller said they have only been used for around 4 thousand miles but they are badly worn and scratched, theres no way i am going to put these in my engine as i think they are total nakerd, just wouldnt think they would be badly worn after 4k on them

   I've had a look at a set of newmans in stock and its not really got any markings to show what profile it is. Newmans might be able to machine the camshaft to make it usable so give them a call

   As far as im aware the Newmans cams just have 'sportscam' on them.

   The 8v camshaft i've just looked at had no markings at all - no room for any!
   16v one just had sports cam on and EX for exhaust...

   ok well these aint newmans then, i think this tit has selt me standard cams. its getting sorted through pay pal just now so i will hopefully get my money back, just got a feeling this guys gona say that these aint the cams he sent me then he mite get to keep the money and am going to be left with them. i am going to buy brand new cams tomorrow,

   Might be worth sending them to Newmans to confirm the spec of the cams etc.

    well i am sending these back to the seller tomorrow so hopefully get my money back, if i end up being stuck with them i will post some pics up or send them to newmans to confirm the spec
