I have been unable to start my 2001 VTR for two weeks now as i connected starter motor up the wrong way
. Since then the car cuts out as soon as started and the immobiliser light is on the dash. I have asked a mechanic and he reckons that I will have blown the ECU and Immobiliser block. They require replacing along with a new key. Is this a big job to do or is thee any other (easier/cheaper) methods to get it running again. Any help at all woud be much appreciated.
Important! : Help ECU

#2Cant really have the VTR sat not running for much longer so getting desperate for some help.
-
#3if it was a ecu or immobiliser fault the car would not start atall. have you had it fault code read?
-
#4I have not had it fault code read yet as no insurance on the car at the minute. The car turns over and seems to fire up but cuts out immediately and the immobiliser light is flashing on the dash during all this. I really need car running again but have not got the funds to try a process of elimination.

#5ok then mate you need your immobiliser re-syncronised to the car.. try seaching the internet on how to do it there should be a guide there. sounds like that garage is trying to rip you off mate.

#6Cheers ill have a look at that. Garage told me to just go to scrap yard and do it myself so there would be no gain on there behalf.
