Squeaky clutch & throttle?

Hey, recently my saxo has started to have a few squeaks. They happen when either the clutch pedal is pushed in or the throttle pedal is brought out.

any ideas? just hoping its not a problem with the gearbox/clutch

    thanks

Will just be the clutch pedal, the clutch cable or the clutch control arm mate. A liberal spray of WD40 on the last two will sort them out, along the top of the gearbox the cable and rubber bung can dry out and squeek, or the arm can rust and do the same.

If its the pedal, again WD40 is the way forward but obviously be careful where your spraying, you only want to spray the mechanism not the pedals, floorpan etc

I have the exactly same problem!

They told me it could be the Lower arm, thats why they want to replace it!

They told you the clutch cable was related to the lower arm? Definitely go elsewhere mate

So it happens when the clutch is deppressed and also when you Lift off the throttle.

if that is correct, i wouldn't say its releated to clutch, would you describe the noise as a sort of squeeling but also the pitch changes with speed?

Doh, didnt read that right lol. It could be the clutch but as Jordy says if theyre the same noise then it isnt.

If it sounds like an old squeeky bedspring kind of noise, or an old squeeky door in a B movie its most likely that a new fitment kit is needed on your downpipe to centre section/cat join. The kit consists of two bolts and some springs, which squeek badly when they dry out. Theyre worst when you get torque surges through the engine, causing it to rock on its mounts, moving the exhaust and therefore the springs on the join. Which is why you hear it most when changing gear or accelerating, as the engine rocks longitudinally the most at these times.

Your looking at under a tenner for the fitting kit and fire gasket, and its easy to fit yourself if youve got two 10mm spanners, a jack and some axle stands.

It could be a number of other things, but the join is a common problem.
