HELP!!!! offside driveshaft will not free itself

    im trying to remove my old driverside driveshaft but its not budging..... im pretty sure the intermediate bearings seized into the bracket... both bearing bolts are out there groove and turned 90 degrees.... i cant remove the bracket either because the bolts have been rounded.....
    any ideas anyone? thanks

    i have tried bangin/tappin it out... wriggling like hell.... pulling, bleeding like a bitch and really frustrated. grrrrr

    ad this problem on me mates gti, i just removed the bracket which holds the bearing on the shaft half way, jobs a good en'

    i also had this problem, as i didn't need the shaft what i did was put a crowbar or prybar between the Bearing housing and the Big block thing towards the outer edge of the shaft,. and used leaverage to pull them apart, worked perfectly and ended up with no damage to either part.

    Id say one in every four will be like that. As said theyre easy enough to remove if you take the bearing housing off altogether, and then place the driveshaft on a hard surface thats a bit spongy so you can tap the housing down and off the shaft.

    i thought about removing the housing bracket but one of the 3 bolts was nearly rounded off so i figured not wrth attempting, just more hassle trying to get a torque wrench in the limited space... iv bought some penetrant spray... heavy duty wd basicaly which eats rust rather than loosen it, ill give the crow bar a go tomorrow morning...i tried using a fat screwdriver....between the bearing housing and the inner joint but jus kept slipping bust my little finger on downpipe-cat joint. thanks
