Repair List - Help

Had the 'S in at Citroen the other week and they did a Visual Healthcheck for me. Ive resolved what I can, but a couple of bits Im not 100% on how to do. (and no, I havnt searched, means effort).

    1. ABS wiring to rear sensor insecure
    2. Thermostat housing cracking/water pump been cracking
    3. Play in O/S track rod end (Id assume this is the knocking noise I hear when reversing out of my garage on full lock?).
  2. #2
    1. I'm guessing it means that the wiring isn't clipped securely. Or the connection is loose.
    2. New 'stat.
    3. That would most likely be the knocking noise yes.

    Maybe I should have rephrased.

Like, where is the 'stat and the abs wires?
  4. #4
    Gotcha.

If you take the back wheel off, you'll see the ABS sensor and pick-up ring. Wires will be running into the sensor. You'll soon see what it means by insecure.

Thermostat, IIRC, follow the top rad hose to the block. Bingo. The thing the top hose goes into is the stat.

Can give me 'em if we ever actually meet

Edit: Bear in mind, if your gonna replace the stat yourself, you'll need to bleed the system after

    FCS?

I'll do it myself. Now I know where it is I can crack on.

    No pun intended.

Nah man, not around at the time of the show

If you get stuck with anything, best thing ever is a Haynes manual. It's actually my bible when I'm working on mine.

did the visual health check cost much mate?
  12. #12
no, they did it when they removed my locking wheel bolts.

    £75 per hour + VAT

When mine went in for diagnostics, they did a visual health check.

They suggested I replaced my tyres that had 5mm of tread on them, offered to charge me £20 for a rear wiper blade(that didn't need replacing), said that my rear washer doesn't work when it clearly does.

When I questioned them on why it needed these things doing, when they clearly didn't, strangely they didn't have an answer.
