Newbie in need of help!

   Hi guys.
   
   I've joined this forum hoping to get a little advice about my gf's saxo.
   
   She's often complaining about noises coming from it. Most of which i've never heard apart from 1, when i put it in reverse and release the clutch i get a knocking sound follwed by a grinding/fast knocking while actaully reversing.
   
   I assumed that the bottom engine mount/stabiliser had broken or had worn bushes but all is fine.
   
   Any ideas what this could be?

   it could be the gearbox,
   
   when mine went it was reverse that was the first gear to make a nosie, then all the rest started to go before sounded like my box was full of spanners.

   As said could be your gearbox tbh tho sounds like a combo of cv joints and gearbox IMO

   sounds like mine
   mines the gear linkages hitting the c.a.t because the bolt for the cat had gone missing and just rattles me in second fourth and reverse

   Gear linkage rattling cat actually sounds possible. I'll take a look at that.
