Ive just won a lightened flywheel and uprated clutch kit on ebay.. Im just wondering is it a straight swap or is there anything else involved as ive read somewhere about balancing? But im not sure exactly what that involves?

lol, bidding on something you don't know fits

It'll fit your car fine if the clutch and flywheel are meant for each other. I wouldn't worry about balancing tbh, it should have been when it was lightened tbh.

if its been lightened by an amatuer then it may not be balanced
obviously spinning around not balanced may cause a bit of trouble like shake the gearbox to bits

I've made the mistake of bidding on something that i wasnt 100% sure that would fit, and paid for it too, next time, make sure. Got off lucky as they should fit straight in

I know it fits because it had my model on the list of cars it fitted. I just didnt know about the lightened flywheel business. But its all brand new so i presume it should just fit straight on

yeah exactly my father went to a RTC where a lightened flywheel was not balanced correctly and lets say it went through the gearbox casing and it ended up wedged in the rear seats/chassis. the car was cut in half. you can tell if its been balanced as when the flywheel arrives you will notice some drill holes in the back of the flywheel sometimes not very deep, about 4mm or so.
