Overheating!

    Hello I have a saxo vts 2002 which is overheating and have been told i need to change the thermostat, how do I do this? Is there a 'How to guide' on here explaining how to exactly change the thermostat?

    i had same problem with my vtr fort i would need new thermostat turns out i had an air lock in radiator so try bleeding the system first

    As above try bleeding the cooling system. But first, how long ago did you flush or re-new your coolant. The overheating could be caused by dirty coolant which causes a sludge which then restricts the coolant flow therefore causing overheating. So try draining, flushing and re-newing the coolant first and whilst the coolant is out, remove your thermostat and give it a quick test by immersing the unit in boiling water and observing to see if the thermostat opens.
