Changing Saxo VTR clutch cable

  1. #1
Hi guys, Im having a real problem here. I cant for the life of me manage to get the old cable out and I have no idea when i do how the hell im guna get the new one in. It seems like I have to remove half the engine to even have a chance.

Does anyone have a guide or pictures on how to do this? Maybe a scan of the haynes manual?

    Thanks.

Diconnect at pedal, pull through bulkhead (may want to tie some string on it inside car so you can pull the new cable in when refitting.

Pull the cable towards front of car and slide it out of the clutch release arm. iirc it will be tie wrapped or clipped to bulkhead - for acces remove air filter and ducting.

Adjust new one so pedal bite is about 3/4 travel from the floor.

take your time and you will be fine

Well, the clip attaching the cable to the pedal has snapped. I have bought a clutch cable kit which is a complete replacement.

I have bought the Haynes Manual and found out it is a lot easier if the lift the car.

I am going to have another go tomorrow afternoon and will report back with my success or failure!
