Drivers Wheel Bearing

   Right was just looking round my car this afternoon at college had it up on the ramps was checking for any wear, leaks and play in parts. Have a slight bit of play in drivers wheel, so took wheel off checked hub nut, cant get it any tighter put wheel back on and tightened that up but still has slight bit of play goes up and down and side to side.
   
   Is there a guide on how to do this? and how much am i looking for a wheel bearing?

   Might not be wheel bearing Pidge, I have seen play in the shock absorber itself. I know this sounds completely unplausable but get some one to wiggle the wheel while you have a look.

   I had play in my shock that caused a annoying knocking noise, changed it and all was fine
