Hey, im buying a Citroen Saxo Furio 1.4, for around 1750 in icelandic grey. its got 69700 miles on the clock. Do you think that thats too many miles for the price? the other ones at the same miles are 2695 but with a few less miles e.g 65000. Thanks
69700 miles too much?

#2no, is fine.
At minimum it'll be 7 years old, so £10k a year average would make it under average at minimum ! -
#3are you mad?? that is low mileage imo. should have Over 100,000 miles on if done by the average.
-
#4Far too many, you'd be crazy to buy any car with that many miles.
-
#5i'd be more interested in why its low...
-
#6Lol why would he be crazy ray??? Haha
-
#7I dont think i would pay that much for a furio though. Seems a little steep to me
-
#8i sent a tex to that car text thing on telly that tells you everything aboute your car and on it it said 60,000 is the average mileage for a 52plate?
i picked my furio up for £1600 with 59,000 on the clock. -
#9its a 52 plate, there decent first cars thats why there a bit more expensive than most VTR's and VTS's cause theyre usually insurance group 7+ furio is 5 so cheap insurance. so 69700 isnt bad then? inside its so clean, one previous owner, apparently a woman.
-
#10yeh, 67k is fine !
-
#11Your a lucky bugger then, i wanna check the forums for sales but i cant due to posts.
-
#12mines done 69650 and runs spot on still no worries with that kinda mileage mate
-
#13How much is an MOT on a furio do you kno? obv it varies if there are problems, just to get it booked in, and done if there are no probs
-
#147 years old average of about 12,000 - 15000 miles a yeah now. so average of 13,500 pa which is a total mileage of 94,500

#16good find

#17My furio has done 61K which is pretty low for the age, 10 years old in June!

Can i just add, A cars mileage doesn't always indicate the state of the car/engine, a car that's done 100K could well be in better shape than one that's done 70K, it all depends if its been serviced regularly and looked after and not thrashed! A good service history is a big plus when buying a saxo. I'm sure most of you are aware of this, just thought i'd throw it in. -
#18my vtrs done 110k .. runs brilliantly , just depends whos had it before you and if theyve looked after it .. 9 times out of 10 they havent unfortunatly
-
#19Milege is spot on, price is a little steep, but I assume thats from a trader?
-
#20Lister
-
#21hahaha my VTR is at 82000 and it still drives strong
-
#22ur so dilusional if u thnk a furio costs more than a vts! fur a 52 plate vts thats dun 69700 ud b lookin tae pay bwt 2500 at least fur yin thats been looked after..insurance group has nwt tae dae wae it
-
#23my vtr is at 109006 and its never missed a beat going on strong
-
#24I must be going a bit dilusional as well, because your post makes NO SENSE. Avoid the text talk/scottish?! typing man or you won't be on here long at that rate...Quote:ur so dilusional if u thnk a furio costs more than a vts! fur a 52 plate vts thats dun 69700 ud b lookin tae pay bwt 2500 at least fur yin thats been looked after..insurance group has nwt tae dae wae it
As for the car, sounds fine to me, price seems ok, mileage seems good. My VTR is on an 03 plate and has 103500 on the shell, engine is probably around 80,000 but I have no way of knowing, either way, it runs sweet. -
#25£2500 for a 52 plate VTS? Your delusional mate, no one else.
-
#2667k is nothing if its been looked after correctly..TU's will do 200k+ no problems if looked after properly..
-
#28Personally wouldn't spend that money on any Saxo, would rather move on to something else, like a Renaultsport etc
-
#29mines done that plus 100K.
So your fine -
#30mines at 88 and 87 of them werent to well kept by previous owners but i'll be giving it a proper going over now its nearly bk on the road head to toe service clean and de rust and protect xx
-
#31mines a 52 plate furio and that has 32k on the clock and yes that is genuine and has all service history quality find i paid just under 2500 for it

need i continue???? go on pistonheads and you will see for youself
but seriously why the hell would a furio be dearer than a vts at same age???
the vts is the top spec model and the furio is far from top spec!
the insurance group has nothing to do with selling a because why wld a 30 year old girl who could insure a vts cheap anyway pay more for a less spec model just because of the lower insurance group?? -
#33Thanks everyone, i bought it!
-
#34Mileage seems fine to me too! My 52 plate VTR has done 67k so you're all good
-
#35Haha made me laugh. I thought i was the only one who thought he was tlaking gibberishQuote:I must be going a bit dilusional as well, because your post makes NO SENSE. Avoid the text talk/scottish?! typing man or you won't be on here long at that rate...
