hey guys any help or information on this would be apreciated .

my mate has had his car off the road for a little bit due to having another car but he know wants to put his old car back on the road , the car was declaired SORN five months ago . Know he wants to know if he goes to the post office and buys road tax does it automatically take your car off SORN ? .

    thanks Sexo_vts.

Yes mate it does. Obv will need to be insured and have valid MOT tho to get the tax.

Is it true that you must have an MOT just to leave it parked on t' road

i would imagine it needs to be roadworthy to be on the road, even parked up.

but yes taxing it will be fine. alod direct.gov has all the info

tO GET TAX YOU NEED MOT AND INSURANCE, IF BUYING AT POST OFFICE YOU WILL NEED YOUR V5 (LOGBOOK) OR JUST BUY TAX ONLINE IF CAR IS REGISTERED TO YOU (YOUR ADDRESS) IT WILL GET SENT OUT TO YOU, THEY CHECK ONLINE IF CAR IS MOT'D AND INSURED SO DONT NEED THESE DETAILS.

ALSO IF YOU HAVE NO TAX AND HAVENT DECLARED IT SORN YOU WILL HAVE RECEIVED A FINE IN THE POST SO LOOKS LIKE WILL HAVE BEEN SORN IF HAVENT RECEIVED A FINE :-)
