Removing window tints

  1. #1
Hi, im really having trouble removing window tints on the front passenger and drivers side. It looks like its professionally done so its not got any bubbles or cracks to peel from. Ive tried winding the windows fully up/down to search for "peeling spots"

    Any ideas to remove them?

If it is only a film just get ur nails on it, or a stanley blade and start to peel up a corner.

As mentioned I couldnt find any weak points to start peeling from. Also I dont trust myself with a sharp knife on glass

yeah but if do it in the top corner where window sits in the seals anyway if you do make a scratch it wont matter. once you have a little bit off you wont need the knife/blade

no luck using a scalpel. ill try and use a hairdryer tomorow. Do i just heat the window and the glue should loosen along with the tints? how long do i blow at it for using a hair dryer?

A blade is your best bet, just take your time and start at a corner. If there is glue stuck 2 the glass after use auto glym tar remover and that takes it right off.

I had the same problem as you, just use a stanley blade to start then use a hairdryer to heat the window as you pull the tint off. To remove the sticky residue left over use "sticky stuff remover" from halfords, works a treat!

try a hair dryer, or just heating the film and the glue will loosen and make it easier to pull off
