What is the problem with my drive shaft? (with picture)

   I've had many people tell me what it could be and im still unclear of an answer, i should soon be getting a new shaft thankfully! but i wanted to check is it the CV joint or something?
   
   Its my drivers side and theres loads of grease or something coming out of the end of the shaft..
   
   The noise it makes is like a knocking.. like my wheel is wobbling and hitting my inner wheel arch, but it is'nt..
   
   i have checked that its not the bearings
   
   So can anyone actually diagnose?

   looks like cv joint if gaiter aint split somewhere and if knocks when turning defo cv

   just read that felt like wheel was wobbling had same prob found it was top joint on shaft had gone replaced shaft complete with cv and problem gone

   Im not surprised its leaking grease.. the boot is held on with a cable tie lol
   
   Chances are the cv joint is nackered, a new driveshaft will cure it

   When buying a new drive-shaft does it come with everything needed? or will i have to buy something separate?

   And its held on with a cable tie because the bit holding it on sheared off, so i cable tied it back xD

   Had this on the 172 untill the misses booted it while on full lock off a roundabout and it stripped the CV joint completely, car wouldnt move because of the diff.
   
   New driveshaft cured it straight off
