where my exhaust meets the straight through pipe there is a gap where fumes are getting pumped through its not a huge gap but it is there, is there an easy way to cover it up or block it, and my mot is due in 3 months will this affect it or mpg

Either take it to a garage or take it off yourself and see whether it's something you can fix just by renewing the exhaust clamp or whether the hole is unfixable.

i think what it is, when i took it off it was like rusted together and i think a little bit snapped off, is there not some paste or patch kit or a bigger clamp.

Urm, not really anything that'll last tbh - could bodge it together but would only last a matter of miles I'd say.

Either try and get it welded up (but sounds too far rusted tbh) so best ot get another section of exhaust - Sparco_Tom off here gets them at good prices, pm him

im skint at the min, i need to look whether it is the back box or the stright through pipe, if it is the back box i got a performance one i dont like but i could put it on.

i will nip to a scrap yard who do welding see what they can do
