changin alternator belt

   hi was wondering how to change the alternator belt on a 90bhp silver top? how do you get the right tension again?
   
   how much should it cost at a garage to get this done?

   your should be able to twist the best 90 degrees to left and right..or when u press or pull on the belt it shouldnt flex more than 1cm...and to get it done at a garage should only cost bout £20..its litraly a 30 min job if that...hope it helps

   Yeh, Generally getting the right tension is experience, just make sure it isn't too tight or it will scream or come off..and if it's too loose, obviously it will come off. 10 minute job. Slacken the one bolt till you can get it off.

   Both advice above is good. Just make sure that when you do twist the belt 90 degrees to the left and right that it is from the middle of the longest run of the belt.
