A Strange One...

I was out in town last night, approaching a roundabout, lightly braked and tried to change lanes but I had lost all power for a few seconds. Im talking 3-5, no more than that.

I couldnt turn the wheel and managed a quick glance at the dash and all of the lights where on, just like when you turn the key to the second click when starting. Then the power came back and managed to get into the right lane and carry on.

Any ideas as to why this happened? No I hadnt turned the key as my hand was nowhere near it.

Could be that it cut out as you cane off the power (coil pack or tos fault) then without knowing it you bumped it back in again

Possibly. Ive never heard of this problem before, (well on a Saxo, Toyota's are different lol). At first I thought something electrical as it had been pissing it down for a while so something got wet/damp? Everything is sealed so couldnt be much if thats what it was.

See if it does it again when you lift off the power/dip the clutch when the engines warm. If it dies it'll be one of the above

I did a couple of hours driving today and covered god knows how many miles and nothing happened, even when lifting off, dipping the clutch. Time of the month maybe?

Glad it didnt actually, A12 isnt very nice to break down on...

Probs just a one off, but as said it sounds like it lost all revs and cut out while your clutch was down.

If it does it again, get it on the diognostics, that will tell you what happended as it would have been logged.

did it again 3 times within 30 mins this morning. everytime it was when the clutch was down and breaking for a junction, so must be the revs dropping too much.

where else can i get the diag's checked? i cant afford citroens £75 + vat

i had it and it was the terminals on the battery were loose and the engine would cut out but all the lights would stay on and then it would start itself and check your posi and neg make sure they are really tight

Call local garages, there are 2 near me that charge £25 for a diagnostic to be done
