Lol dont worry its not gonna be a furio for long, ive ordered a VTS engine, i just have to gather all the parts! One problem tho.... Rear disc conversion costs £300!!!!
  7. #7

you got any pics, it sounds quite a nice car mate.

i would love to do more mods to mine but im skint at the min
  11. #11
i have pics on me fone, but i dont have a way of gettin them on the comp till i get home, i am at work at the minute. Problem with the pics atm is that me paintwork and body is not finished. 1 sideskirt is off being sprayed and theres a massive scrape on the rear arch on the driver side!
  12. #12
wouldn't worry about a rear disc beam matey , they only account for like 15 % of the total braking effort , be better off spending that 300 on decent front brakes
  13. #13
ah thats good, i thought that id kill meself without them..... Oh well £300 saved.... Do you know wot else i need to buy? I have the engine and the ECU and wiring loom. Do i need the gearbox?
  14. #14
Steve to get the most from a vts you at least need a vts gearbox but worry not theres loads about for around £80.

The rear braking may only be 15% but that 15% keeps you ina straight line, they come with discs on the rear for a reason, id definitely get it changed over.
  15. #15
well as long as your rear drums actually work then they will still keep you in a straight line anyway , the furio has vts front brakes any way , there is no point of upgradin the back , unless your going to be braking from the vts's max speed constantly , lets face it who drives at 120+ all the time and needs to brake massively heavily all the time , i can quite happily brake from 115 to 0 and my brakes are great.
  16. #16
Also just to add.. if you have to much braking pressure on the back it pulls the back of the car in too much and in the wet can make you slide out FACT
  17. #17
Personal choice mate. Me personally id rather have them than not

Whack some 4pots on...my brakes work well too
  18. #18
i think i will go for rear brakes, just to be on the safe side, altho could be a while before it gets sorted! Just ordered me strut brace for the front
  19. #19
cam, head work, vtr inlet, re-map,1.1 gear box, bigger brakes, vts rear axle,

all big money for hardly any gains
  20. #20
Exactly good point thing is if the vts rear discs only make the same or a tiny bit more than the drums then you will actually get 0% gain anyway , like you said yeah its personal choice and if i had 300 to spend i'd definetly spend it on sumthin that does 85% of the braking rather than 15%
  21. #21
100£ for rear discs and axle

550£ for the 4 pot calipers ive got on the front
  22. #22
totally depends what you wanna do steve do you want more power or do you want to sort handling first plenty to do depends on how much £££ you want to spend aswell.

btw great team you think we will batter bristol?
