Important! : Vtr wont start???? Help :(

Hi guys, went to go for a spin down the road just before, but the car wont start?!

The battery isnt dead because it can still power the sound system, but possibly not enough charge to start the car?
It ticks over but dies before it starts, im massivly puzzled now because the battery was new a few months ago, and it stared first time every time its life. Yet when I came to start it today it isnt?

If it helps i was wiring up the amp yesterday after re-aranging the boot build and the red cable from the amp to the battery caught slightly on the black one right next to it on the amp, there was a little bit of spark but nothing seemed to be damaged .

There was just a small humming sound comming through the speakers after it happened whenever you have the volume off, but thats it... Obviously its done something to the battery?

I've got it charging through the mains with some battery charger thing my mum uses for the electric fence battery..

    HELP?
    Thanks guys

It sounds like it does, all light on dash work fine, sterio, interior lights, the lot. But go to start it and it turns over and gradually dies.

Its just me at the house atm so i doubt i can bump it by myself

you can bump your own car its easy lol, not being a arse but do you have petrol im guessing the starter motor turns. if your on a hill saxos are quite tempremental with the fuel situation, when did you last start it??

make sure your stereo is off when you try turning it over any power drain makers it harder to start a car

Oh really? could you explain how that would work? ... I suppose the last thing i bump started was a 3.1L trooper... harly easy to move.

Pleanty petrol, over half a tank. Last started it yesterday as i was chwecking there was no bad coloured fumes but then played around with the amp and wiring in the boot and now its not starting...

Fuse sounds possible, how would i know? and which fuse?

Im not the brightest of sparks (no pun intended) when it comes to electronics in a car or the engine

Sorted now! Thanks for any help guys. I left the battery on charge for a few hours, hooked it back up & fired strait up!

So went for some sneeky fun up the farm roads and over the moor... to make sure the battery wouldnt die when i switched it off of course..
