if it was only as easy as it sounds lol

Lol, it's not difficult - just got to measure up, make sure they are symmetrical, use template, mark it up and cut.

It's not hard and pretty common sense

your version made it sound like a 10 min job,
i have searched this and quite a few people took over 1.5 hours a side

    My version requires common sense.

Mine took around 3-4hours with cups of tea. Just measured it up a couple of times, made some templates and carefully cut them out

it's not hard to do, just got to take your time and get stuck in

have confidence in what your doing Sure they didnt have the ones that sit underneath and are totally flush? meaning an absolutely accurate cut is required?

Am accurate cut is needed, to bolt holes are very close to the edge.

Just take your time and measure up more than once!

What do you cut bonnet with??
  10. #10
i would say a dremmel......... i need to get myself one as i could use one all the time
  11. #11
I used a dremel for all of it, but if doing it again I'd use a mix of angle grinder and dremel
  12. #12
I used a jigsaw for mine. Is this on a fibreglass/carbon bonnet or a standard one. I thought after i'd done them I should of done a guide. As already said not a hard job, just take your time.

No real difference, just the different materials need different cutting blades, well to make the job easier.

Anyone got any pics of them on mk2s so i get a idea of where to mount them and decide which way, etc.

    measure twice, cut once .

also, a small holesaw set may be good.

When we done my mates one, we drilled the pins into the wing first so that we got them in a good solid area, then put 2 holes through from the bottom of the bonnet so that we could close the bonnet over the pins, then stuck the template down, made sure everything was lines up nicely & dremeled them in!

It really can be quite a simple job!
