usual suspects are top mount bearings or drop links if it knocks when turning whilst standstill.

driveshafts can also knock but are only noticeable when driving usually

less common knocks are from wishbone ball joints or track rod ends.

check your suspension components especially got any work rubber boots on the various ball joints as this is the first tell tale giveaway that a particular joint has dried up and died

Its just the rubbe outer casing that protects the baill joints on the track rod end, drop links or wishbone ball joints.

If theyre split and have been for a while all of the grease thats inside keeping them lubricated will have dried out and will cause it to seize up.

ALso excessive cracking/aging of the rubber can cause them to dry out to some extent

Its an easy visual check to do

mine seems to be the drive shaft CV joint, a new drive shaft will be fitted.. then i will find out if it was the problem!

if it doesnt happen when the car is jacked up, ie no weight on the car then it may be the damper. mine was.

Possibly unrelated, but check the big brass nut on the suspension damper itself.

These have a habit of starting to loosen off.

You'll find it under the plastic boot.

There is a special pug/cit tool to tighten them, but a big pipe wrench will do the job just as good. Normally there is a bit of thread showing
