Petrol cap

   Hi there
   
   I recently brought a chrome petrol cap off ebay which fits fine, just the problem is that they key of the car will not come out of the current petrol cap without it being in the hole, so i have the problem of a petrol cap with a car key that wont come out. is there anyway i can get it out without keeping the current petrol cap, surly there is?

   look at the back of the cap, see the notches that sort of mesh together to lock the cap to the body of the car? hold the outside ring with one hand and twist the inside one with the other hand, then pull the key out

   You mean so it is in the locked position, cus im turning it and it still isn't moving, it must be some sort of safety mechanism

   ye if you turn it untill the notches line up on the back the key should come out, unless its fooked mate, just line them up and give the key a good tug
