rusty rocker cover

   hi iv got a saxo vtr o2 reg and the rocker cover is rusy, dont really understand, i basicually wondering how difficult to restore any thing to look out for?

   Just paint it with heat proof paint............lol.......

   or buy a second hand one and fit it with a new gasket

   Take it off
   Strip with a wire brush/Rough Sand Paper
   Spray with high temp paint ( I used Hammerite)
   Refit a new rocker cover gasket
   Refit Cover
   Done

   Becasue the original paint flakes off over time due to heat

   i just rubbed mine down with a wire brush and hammer righted it. gave a good finish

   I took mine to a sprayer yesterday so i should have a nice finish
