#5Well depends what you want from the car?
If you just want a simple replacment irelative of any gain, then you could get a VTR or 1.1 gearbox for £20-£150. Theyre just so common.
Most other boxes tend to cost about £100-£250.
Then you go onwards and upwards up to like £6k
A VTR £20 will be adequate. -
#6depends if you want just a low mileage replacement or a new reconditioned one from a specialist. also depends if you were going to fit it yourself or get a garage to fit it. All saxo boxes fit all saxos. people usually pick up a cheap 2nd hand 1.1 gearbox for quicker acceleration but slightly slower top, apparently they have a weaker differerntial though, not sure.
if it were me, i'd look around for a cheap low mileage at scrap yards/ebay instead of paying a rip off price for a garage to source you a recon one -
#7cheers for price ranges, i was just looking for a replacement really nothing special and a bit of a guide price.

#8VTR gearbox £50 everywhere mate. They dont really vary by how many miles theyve done. If they dont make noises theyre good!
Fitting will be about £100 + £20 gearbox oil + VAT
But its fairley easy to do yourself
