bad vibrating!

i was driving home last night and was doing about 70 ish the the whole way home, then i broke and i had the biggest vibration ever! i didnt think anything of this and it didnt do it the rest of the journey, now tonight while driving to my mates it done it again but really bad. i have come to the conclusion its something to do with my rear brakes because when i pull the handbrake up a bit it does it. what do i need to do to stop this? new shoes? drums?

    any help appreciated

    thanks

I would of thought your engine mount has gone mate. Is it vibrating bad all the time like on idle and pulling away/normal driving?

nope, the car drives completly normal until i brake or pull the hand brake up a little bit, it vibrates so much it feels like a dentist is drilling a tooth

sounds like the rear drums are distorted/out of shape.to cure it you will need new drums and shoes but just make sure it is definatly the rears as its usually the front discs that warp.

its definatly the rears as it only does it when i brake hard ( causing the rear brakes to work harder than usual) or when i pull the hand brake up a bit while driving, i did lower my torsion bar the other day, but have raised it back up due to bad roads near me, but this couldnt affect it could it?

wont be the torsion bar causing this i'd think it was definatly the brakes, get yourself some drums and shoes priced up mate.
